Gazprom’s contract for Bolivian field seen enforced in 1–2 mos
MEXICO CITY, Jan 29 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has finished exploration on gas project Vitiacua in Bolivia, the contract for which enters into force in one or two months, CEO of Bolivia’s YPFB Oscar Barriga said late on Monday.
“Gazprom has completed exploration, and finished negotiations on the contract today, it will enter into force in one–two months after approval by the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (parliament),” Barriga said.
According to an earlier statement, investments in Vitiacua can total U.S. $1.2 billion. The output of the field can amount to one fifth of the total Bolivian oil production.
